JUST
JUST is a one-click button solution for online sales sites. I joined this project to support the founders in creating an MVP based on the strict minimum necessary to find their first clients and raise funds.
The objective was simple:
Demonstrate the product’s added value in record time, while offering a reliable solution from day one.
MVP Development
To achieve this objective, we started on the Shopify platform to integrate the famous “JUST” button on the frontend. The choice of Shopify proved judicious since:
- Integration is easier and faster to set up.
- There are already very many sellers on the platform.
To efficiently manage the entire order process, we developed a custom backend. This ensures:
- Account creation and saving user information.
- Order and payment management, synchronized with the Shopify backend.
We also set up a small onboarding to explain to merchants how to install and configure the JUST button on their Shopify store. Additionally, component creation for the button was done to easily integrate it into their product pages.

Challenges
-
Minimalist UI
Fit the complete user experience into a small popup, while maintaining sufficient clarity and engagement to finalize the order. -
Complete synchronization
Map the entire Shopify order flow with the JUST backend. This involves creating and managing:- User accounts.
- Payment and delivery information.
- Billing and shipping costs.
-
Robust shopping experience
Offer a complete ordering solution (confirmation emails, delivery synchronization, installment payments, etc.) in a smooth and intuitive way. -
Accessible onboarding
Allow non-technical founders to take control of the product and integrate the JUST button themselves, without permanent assistance from a dev team.
Successes
-
Robust solution from Day 0
The MVP was already reliable and well thought out enough to support the first users and convince investors. -
Cost-effective and efficient MVP
The project cost relatively little to develop, yet allowed the startup to last nearly a year with this technological base. -
Fundraising
Thanks to the operational MVP, the team was able to raise 3M and continue product development. -
Focus on essentials
We managed to convince the founders to set aside superfluous features to quickly release an efficient product.
Experience feedback
-
Go to the essentials
An MVP doesn’t need to be perfect or feature-rich: it must focus on the product’s core, offer a solid user experience, and prove value to the target market. -
An MVP can last
Even with a limited budget, a well-thought-out MVP can last several months, even a year, while continuing to support growth and fundraising. -
Simplicity pays
Streamlined onboarding and integration can greatly facilitate the lives of founders (especially non-tech) and accelerate product adoption.
